Memorial Day

On what is now a tradition on my blog, Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the brave men and women who sacrificed the ultimate gift – life – to protect our freedoms.

This is the story of Travis Manion and Brendan Looney. Roommates at the Naval Academy, patriots and true warriors who now lay at rest together in Arlington National Cemetery. Their story was also told in a fantastic book entitled Brothers Forever. It is an unbelievable story of courage and sacrifice and the following quotes epitomize why these two men and all of our service men and women are so special:

“If not me, then who?” ~Travis Manion

“Be strong, be accountable, never complain.” ~Brendan Looney

Great words to live by from great men.

Thank you for your service to our country.
